Justin Duell

I learned the basics of tax preparation in 2004 when I was asked to run a preparation service for my Dad, Sam, and his retirement financial firm. For most of the year, I filled out paperwork for clients who had their monies under management. When February rolled around, I switched roles and prepared taxes for existing clientele and others nearing retirement to help them prepare for their transition.

In my first year, I did nearly 5o returns and gained a lot of experience. Over the years I grew and developed a much larger tax book and did over 500 alone in 2014. In 2015 I was on to my next adventure, which included buying a farm and transitioning into a new direction. Farming did not pick up and become a full-time job for several years, so as it grew I took my tax skills to a firm in Menasha and worked there for a few years in the evenings to make some extra cash. That is actually where I met my beautiful Wife, Kim, in 2017. After marrying in 2018, I decided to quit preparing taxes for the 2019 season and just go forward with farming and my day job. In 2021, I lost my day job, which lead me to find a preparation job again. This time for a company in Minneapolis, where I was able to prepare tax returns from home. The opportunity lined up nicely with my farm seasonality and my experience to prepare taxes.

With this new perspective and the advances in technology, I am taking the experiences I’ve had and building my own firm to build a local preparation firm for the Fox Valley. I look forward to helping you navigate the overwhelming tax world and making our services as convenient and transparent as I can. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Outside of tax preparation, I farm. It’s called The G Farm and we raise and sell beef, pork, chicken turkey, and much more. We sell all of our products directly from our farm. If you were to stop out to drop off your taxes, you would meet me in my office, which is located in the back of our on-farm store.
